  6. Added Features: A few examples of added features earbuds offer can be Bluetooth wireless capabilities or a built-in microphone for phone calls.

We compared and contrasted each of these factors for the Anker Soundcore Life P2 & Apple AirPods

Sound Quality

Especially for music listeners, the overall quality of sound is a massive factor in finding your perfect pair of earbuds. There are various factors that impact a pair of earbuds’ sound quality.

Anker Soundcore Life P2
These earbuds have very good music sound quality that outperforms its price range. With its BassUp technology, they produce roughly 43% more low-end the standard pair of earbuds. It’s a great choice for anyone who prefers more bass! However, the audio quality slightly lacks for a podcast, videos, and audiobooks. Not bad enough to be a deal-breaker, though. The audio quality for phone calls on both ends is exceptional. Overall, I give it an 8.1 out of 10 for sound.

Apple AirPods
To my ears, the sound quality is perfect. The Apple AirPods provide the very best sound quality true wireless earbuds are able to offer. All of the frequencies are perfectly balanced while maintaining a fair amount of separation. All the instruments are easily heard leaving nothing out. The bass response is full and punchy, the mids are rich, and the highs are just right. Even at max volumes, you won’t hear any distortion or harsh frequencies. Compared to every other true wireless pair of earbuds, I give it a 10 out of 10 for sound quality.

Overall, the Apple AirPods have the best sound quality of any true wireless earbuds.

Comfort

The ability for earbuds to remain comfortable for extended periods of time without itchiness, annoyance, pressure, or ear pain. Considering many people use earbuds for commute, air travel, or work; Comfort is a vital factor.

Anker Soundcore Life P2
One of the Anker Soundcore Life P2 strongest attributes is its incredible comfort. They are easily worn for extended periods without fatigue in any way. You also get four different ear tip sizes to ensure a snug fit. I give them a solid 9.4 out of 10 for comfort.

Apple AirPods
The Apple AirPods are extremely comfortable. They feel like nothing is on once put in. Even though their incredibly light on the ears, they stay securely in them. I’ve gone on many runs with them and they’ve never even gotten close to falling out. You will be very satisfied with their overall comfort and ability to stay in your ears.

Overall, while both are very comfortable, the Apple Airpods are comfier.

Build Quality

What good are your amazingly sounding earbuds if they break in a few months? The overall durability and longevity are crucial for any investment you make. Especially for those who need earbuds for commute, it’s important they’re able to withstand vigorous traveling conditions consistently.

Anker Soundcore Life P2
With a soft but robust texture, these earbuds have extremely durable build quality for the low-price. The build material feels much higher grade than most earbuds in this price range. They are able to withstand vigorous traveling conditions. Not to forget, they are sweat and water-resistant with an IPX7 rating. I give it a 9.0 out of 10 for the build.

Apple AirPods
In terms of build quality, both the case and earbuds are robust and sturdy. The earbuds have not only survived multiple times hitting the ground, but they’ve also pulled through an accidental washer an dryer without a scratch. However, the manufacturer claims there not water-resistant. Contrary to that belief, I sweat with them at the gym all the time and have had no issues.

Overall, the Apple Airpods have a much better build quality than the Anker Soundcore Life P2. However, if you need true wireless earbuds that are water-resistant, the Anker Soundcore Life P2 is a better choice.

Noise Isolation/Active Noise Cancelling

Don’t be confused between active noise cancelling and noise isolation earbuds. They are both entirely different. Noise-cancelling technology is very unique. Unlike noise-isolating earbuds, noise-cancelling earbuds do not eradicate outside noise by physical insulation. Within the ear cups, they have a mini microphone that picks up the outside environmental noise. It then triggers a frequency entirely opposite to the outside ambient noise. Thus, canceling out most outside ambient sound.

Anker Soundcore Life P2
Another one of its strengths is its passive noise isolation capabilities. Once put on, a sizeable amount of environmental noise is reduced. However, these earbuds do not provide active noise cancelling. I give them an 8.3 out of 10 for its isolation.

Apple AirPods
Where these earbuds significantly lack is their lack of noise isolation. Once put on, outside noise does not reduce naturally at all. They also don’t offer active noise cancelling, either.

Overall, the Anker Soundcore Life P2 provides better passive noise isolation.

Battery Life

Battery life is an overlooked subject when speaking about over-ear earbuds. Obviously, the only earbuds that have a battery life are those which are wireless. Many earbuds on the market do not have wireless capabilities. But for those who do, a more extended battery-life becomes a convenient factor.

Anker Soundcore Life P2
These earbuds give you 7 hours of continuous playtime. With the wireless charging coming with the purchase, it adds an additional 33 hours.

Apple AirPods
On a full charge, these earbuds give you 5 hours of continuous use. The wireless charging case adds an additional 24 hours.

Overall, the Anker Soundcore Life P2 has a more extended battery life than the Airpods.

Added Features

Here we summarize each pair of earbuds and talk about some of the added features.

Anker Soundcore Life P2
The Anker Soundcore Life P2 has a built-in microphone that takes very clear phone call quality. Combine that with its CVC 8.0 Noise Reduction technology, these earbuds are definitely one of the best pair below $100 for taking phone calls.

Apple AirPods
A feature that I thoroughly enjoy is its auto on/off. The moment you put the earbuds in your ear, they automatically turn on. If you take one-off, they both turn off. I find this feature is incredibly convenient. The wireless charging case comes in handy, as well. With its built-in mic, phone calls are incredibly clear without any issues. Overall, the Apple AirPods is the most reliable choice of true wireless earbuds under $200. It’s a fantastic bang for the buck and I highly recommend it.

Overall, the Apple AirPod has better-added features with great phone call quality.
