Here it is ladies and gentlemen. Two highly popular gaming chairs side-by-side facing off. While each chair has its standard ups and downs, they also have their own unique benefits. Depending on what you’re looking for in a gaming chair will determine which of these might be the best choice for you. After extensive research, personal experience, and reviews; We formulated an in-depth comparison between each one. May the battle commence!

But first…

What To Look For When Getting A Gaming Chair?

  1. Type of Chair: Does it have wheels, is it a rocker, or is it a stationary chair with a recline
  2. Comfort: The ability to remain comfortable for extended periods of time without fatigue
  3. Build Quality: The overall durability and longevity of the chair or the incorporated electronics (If it has any). This also includes the size and weight capacity
  4. Built-in Speakers: Many gaming chairs don’t provide built-in speakers, but the ones that do have an upper hand. Also, how good are the integrated speakers?
  5. Massage Capabilities: Some chair’s provide massage capabilities, others don’t.
  6. Appearance: Let’s face it, when you’re sitting down going into a gaming battle, you need your gaming chair to look cool and enhance the vibe of your room.

We compared and contrasted each of these factors for the RESPAWN RSP-110 & OFM ESS

Type of Chair

There are a few types of gaming chairs. There are rocker chairs that typically sit closer to the ground and pleasantly rock back and forth. Then there are stationary chairs that might or might not provide a few levels of incline. And finally, there are gaming chairs with wheels with many similarities to a standard office chair. Each of the three has its own benefits. There isn’t necessarily a better or worse style as it comes down to your personal preference.

This PC gaming chair provides a unique and practical leg rest that can fully retract for an upright position or extend outwards for comfortable recline. What we love about it is it’s kind of a hybrid PC gaming chair and a reclinable sofa since the leg rest expands in recline mode. It’s height-adjustable by a couple of inches.

With a provided tilt-control for reclining, this is a PC gaming chair customized for playing video games on a computer. These chairs resemble a standard office chair. However, it’s very versatile with the flip-up arms for arm freedom. So aside from computer game usage, the flip-up arms make it easy to play games with a controller such as PS4, Xbox, etc. Along with that, it also offers a 360-degree swivel and wheels for easy mobility.

Overall, both of these chairs are optimized for PC gaming. However, the RESPAWN RSP-110 also possesses an extendable leg rest and recline.

The ability to remain comfortable in your gaming chair for extended periods of time only makes your gaming or movie experience that much more enjoyable. If the chair possesses different recline levels or tilt, it’s also important to note which of the levels are comfy and which aren’t.

Both the headrest and lumbar support are adjustable and supportive. With a firm but comfy padding, users of all sizes are able to game for extended periods without fatigue. Believe it or not, this chair is actually one of the highest-rated for comfort. The extendable leg enhances the overall comfortability, as well. You’ll also enjoy the supportive padded armrests that don’t sore out your elbows. Out of 10, we give it a 9.5 for comfort.

Not only is this chair incredibly supportive and comfortable right out of the box, but it remains comfortable for extended periods of time. The arms are nicely padded and the integrated lumbar support is just right for most people. Especially if you don’t want lumbar support that sticks out too far, you’ll be very pleased with this chair. Out of 10, we give it a 9.2 for comfort.

Overall, the RESPAWN RSP-110 is more comfortable.

Build Quality

What good is your comfortable gaming chair with various features if it breaks sooner than you’d expected? The overall durability and longevity are crucial for any investment you make. Also, if the chair has any built-in electronics or speakers, it’s important they last long, as well. Another noteworthy attribute is the chair’s weight capacity and size. Some chairs might be a better fit for larger people, other chairs are better for medium to smaller people.

Although this chair is superbly comfortable, it slightly lags in the build quality department. The cushioning doesn’t last as long as most gaming chairs. Additionally, the plastic feels a bit cheap. But on the flip side, many users have only had positive experiences with the chair and lasted them a very long time. For the money, we only believe the chair is slightly below average for its build. Overall, we give the build quality an 8.4 out of 10.

Another phenomenal attribute this chair offers is the robust build quality dramatically outperforms the price. It’s made of bonded leather and possesses a high-back, built-in headrest, and sturdy construction. The only thing knocking down the quality construction is the semi-cheap material it’s made with. But otherwise, this chair wouldn’t be at the low price that it is. Out of 10, we give the overall build quality a 9.1 which is amazing for the price point.

Overall, the OFM ESS has a better build quality.

Built-in Speakers

Some gaming chairs provide built-in speakers and others don’t. However, many people believe that gaming chairs with incorporated speakers are more valuable for gaming since it enhances a surround sound effect. But there are a few critical questions to keep in mind for chairs with built-in speakers. Are they wireless, or do you have to plug the chair in via cord? How good is the sound quality? And my personal favorite, does the chair have an integrated subwoofer that vibrates the chair according to the game?

This chair doesn’t provide built-in speakers.

Doesn’t provide built-in speakers.

Overall, neither have incorporated speakers.

Massage Capabilities

Some gaming chairs offer massage capabilities. While most don’t have this feature, it’s certainly a splendid option to have. Some people must have a massage chair, others don’t.

Doesn’t offer an integrated massage feature.

Overall, neither offers an integrated massage feature.

Gaming chairs can either dramatically enhance the overall vibe of your room, or not. Many gamers don’t care too much about how their chair looks. But if you’re like me and prefer a cool chair to sit down and battle aliens on your game, then the appearance is quite essential.

With one of the most creative designs for a PC chair, we adore the overall visual aesthetic. From the wheels, the rim, throughout the chair, lumbar support, headrest, and even the pull-out leg rest, it’s patterned and nicely striped throughout the entire chair.

This chair has a sleek high-back with a racing style. The stylish hole in the upper back adds a nice elegance, as well. You can get it in either black, blue, green, grey, purple, red, or white. We believe you’ll be satisfied with the overall appearance!

Overall, the RESPAWN RSP-110 has a better visual appeal.
