We compared and contrasted each of these factors for the MKay, OneOdio Y80B, & TaoTronics TT-BH060
Especially for music listeners, the overall quality of sound is a massive factor in finding your perfect pair of headphones. There are various factors that impact a pair of headphones’ sound quality.
For the price, the sound quality will truly blow you away. It has 50mm neodymium drivers that provide powerful bass and clear sound. Both the mids and highs are detailed and precise. Not to forget, these headphones offer HIFI sound quality, which is fantastic. You will overall be delighted with the audio clarity for its low-budget under $50. Better yet, there is no noticeable difference in audio between Bluetooth or wired.
The sound quality is decent. However, still suitable for the price point. In my opinion, the TaoTronics TT-BH060 selling point is not the sound quality but many of the other factors.
Overall, the OneOdio Y80B has better sound quality.
The ability for headphones to remain comfortable for extended periods of time without itchiness, annoyance, pressure, or ear pain. Considering many people use headphones for commute, air travel, or work; Comfort is a vital factor.
In terms of comfort, the padding is deep and quite soft. It is much more comfortable than I was expecting. However, every hour or so, the top of the head and ears may need a break due to the pressure. If a cloud was a 10 and a 4 was mildly uncomfortable, I give the comfort a solid 6.5 out of 10.
These headphones are incredibly comfortable, as well. You are easily to wear them for long durations without sweaty ears or discomfort. The earcups are made out of soft protein pads and a cushioned headband. Fortunately, they easily fit all head sizes without any issues. Overall, they are in the top 10 for most comfy headphones for extended periods on the market. I give it a 9.1 out of 10.
Overall, the TaoTronics TT-BH060 is more comfortable.
What good are your amazingly sounding headphones if they break in a few months? The overall durability and longevity are crucial for any investment you make. Especially for those who need headphones for commute, it’s important they’re able to withstand vigorous traveling conditions consistently.
The build quality is much better than most headphones in this price range. It is durable and able to last. You will also like its rotatable ear cups and the ability to collapse entirely. Overall, you will be satisfied with the sturdy build quality.
I was highly surprised by the overall build quality for the price. They are sturdy and durable. Typically headphones in this price range are not suited for continuous travel. However, the TaoTronics TT-BH060’s robust durability is able to withstand vigorous traveling conditions. These won’t break easily and will certainly last a long time. You won’t be disappointed by the build.
Overall, both headphones are tied for build quality. Both are surprisingly good for their price.
Noise Isolation/ Active Noise Cancelling
Don’t be confused between active noise cancelling and noise isolation headphones. They are both entirely different. Noise-cancelling technology is very unique. Unlike noise-isolating headphones, noise-cancelling headphones do not eradicate outside noise by physical insulation. Within the ear cups, they have a mini microphone that picks up the outside environmental noise. It then triggers a frequency entirely opposite to the outside ambient noise. Thus, canceling out most outside ambient sound.
The headphones provide good passive noise isolation with little to no leakage. It has big earcups that entirely cover the ears while applying pressure naturally. Like most headphones in this budget, the OneOdio Y80B does not provide Active Noise Cancelling.
The TaoTronics TT-BH060 provides great active noise cancellation for the price. It blocks out the majority of lower frequencies while reducing mid to higher frequencies. In other words, they work great for traveling since most engine noises, and ambient sounds are at lower frequencies. Many people claim these headphones work incredibly well for office use. Considering it blocks out most of the annoying lower frequencies for better focus, you can still hear somebody if they need to speak with you. However, it still reduces the background chatter by a decent amount.
Overall, the TaoTronics TT-BH060 has great active noise cancelling while the other one doesn’t have ANC.
Battery life is an overlooked subject when speaking about over-ear headphones. Obviously, the only headphones that have a battery life are those which are wireless. Many headphones on the market do not have wireless capabilities. But for those who do, a more extended battery-life becomes a convenient factor.
With the built-in 500mAh, these headphones have a staggering battery life of 30 hours with a full charge. You can also use them wired, as well.
Like the OneOdio Y80B, these headphones give you a 30-hour battery life, as well.
Here we summarize each pair of headphones and talk about some of the added features.
Something I like a lot about the OneOdio Y80B is the microphone. This boom mic is adjustable and attachable in case you don’t want to carry the extended mic in public. Considering its a unidirectional mic, it’s excellent at reducing background noise. Overall, I highly recommend this pair of headphones for gamers in need of a built-in mic on a budget.
They are incredibly affordable and an excellent bang for the buck pair of headphones. Between the build quality, ANC capabilities, secure Bluetooth 5.0 wireless connection, comfort, and decent sound quality, this is yet another pair of headphones that’s too good for its low price. With its built-in mic, you can also make and receive phone calls. Overall, I highly recommend these for people in need of noise-canceling headphones for an office at the lowest price. Coming with the purchase, you get a carry case, 3.5 mm auxiliary cord, and micro USB charging cable.
