What Makes A Pair Of Earbuds Good?

  1. Sound Quality: How good the overall audio quality of music, phone calls, or video.
  2. Comfort: The ability to remain comfortable for extended periods of time without itchiness, annoyance, or ear pain.
  3. Build Quality: The overall durability and longevity. Able to withstand harsh conditions for extended periods of time.
  4. Noise Isolation/ Active Noise Cancelling: If any at all, how well the active noise cancelling or noise isolating abilities are.

  6. Added Features: A few examples of added features earbuds offer can be Bluetooth wireless capabilities or a built-in microphone for phone calls.

We compared and contrasted each of these factors for the TRANYA B530, Libratone Track Air+, and AUKEY T10 earbuds

Sound Quality

Especially for music listeners, the overall quality of sound is a massive factor in finding your perfect pair of earbuds. There are various factors that impact a pair of earbuds’ sound quality.

With its Qualcomm chip supported by aptx, these earbuds outperform their price with their sound quality. All the frequencies are well balanced and clean. They produce a tad extra bass without sacrificing the other frequencies. Although the sound quality of these earbuds dramatically outperforms their price, they still get a solid 8.6 of 10 compared to the other two more expensive pairs.

Libratone Track Air+
These earbuds produce very rich and crisp sound quality. Although these are one of the pricier earbuds on this list, the sound quality will live up to its price range. It has a deep bass response, as well. Keep in mind, it’s much more difficult to create top-notch sound quality with true wireless earbuds than it is with wired earbuds or over-ear headphones. overall, I give it a solid 9.3 out of 10 for sound.

The AUKEY T10 produces a well-balanced and rich quality of sound. Both the bass and treble are slightly accentuated for a full but crisp audio. Both the graphene diaphragms and dynamic drivers truly add depth and a unique richness to the music. Overall, the sound quality outperforms its price with a 9.2 out of 10.

Overall, the Libratone Track Air+ has the best sound quality by a thin margin. In close second is the AUKEY T10.

The ability for earbuds to remain comfortable for extended periods of time without itchiness, annoyance, pressure, or ear pain. Considering many people use earbuds for commute, air travel, or work; Comfort is a vital factor.

Coming with three sized ear tips, you’re able to pick the most comfortable solution for your ears. These earbuds are extremely comfortable and fit securely, as well. I give it a solid 9.8 for comfort.

Libratone Track Air+
These are some of the most comfortable earbuds on this list. Whether you’re exercising or not, they are easily worn for extended periods without any sign of ear fatigue. Most people even forget they’re on. You will be very satisfied with their comfort.

Also coming with 3 sets of earbuds tips, you’ll surely find a comfy fit. The earbuds themselves fit nicely on the outer ear without pain or discomfort. With their ergonomic design, you’re easily able to wear them for extended periods without fatigue. I give them a solid 9.4 out of 10 for comfort.

Overall, the TRANYA B530 is the most comfortable.

Build Quality

What good are your amazingly sounding earbuds if they break in a few months? The overall durability and longevity are crucial for any investment you make. Especially for those who need earbuds for commute, it’s important they’re able to withstand vigorous traveling conditions consistently.

Another thing these earbuds outperform their price in is build quality. The soft rubber material on both the case and earbuds are great. Both earbuds feel sturdy and able to last a long time. However, the build quality of the charging case is not top-notch. compared to the more expensive earbuds on this list, I still give it a solid 8.5 out of 10 for the build. Not only would you be very satisfied, but you will also enjoy its IPX5 water-resistant capabilities, as well.

Libratone Track Air+
Both the build quality and form factor are very good. They are robust and able to last an extremely long time. You will also appreciate its IPX4 waterproof enabling it to withstand extreme sweat during exercise or splashes. However, the case doesn’t live up to the robust build of the earbuds.

Not only do they have great design, but the build quality of the AUKEY T10 is also another one of its strong points. They are robust and sturdy which can withstand vigorous traveling conditions. The material used to make the earbuds are top-notch. Again, the overall build quality outperforms its price range, as well. You will also enjoy its IPX5 water-resistance capabilities making it entirely sweat-proof for runners.

Overall, the Libratone Track Air+ has the best build quality by a thin margin. In close second is the AUKEY T10.

Noise Isolation/ Active Noise Cancelling

Don’t be confused between active noise cancelling and noise isolation earbuds. They are both entirely different. Noise-cancelling technology is very unique. Unlike noise-isolating earbuds, noise-cancelling earbuds do not eradicate outside noise by physical insulation. Within the ear cups, they have a mini microphone that picks up the outside environmental noise. It then triggers a frequency entirely opposite to the outside ambient noise. Thus, canceling out most outside ambient sound.

These earbuds do not provide active noise cancelling. However, they do provide pretty good passive noise isolation. Once put on, it reduces outside noise passively by 15-20dB. I give it a solid 7.5 out of 10.

Libratone Track Air+
The Libratone Track Air+ is the only pair with active noise-cancelling capabilities on this list. Once initiated, outside ambient noise is significantly reduced. Most people prefer active noise cancellation rather than passive noise isolation to block out environmental noise.

These earbuds don’t offer active noise cancelling technology. However, the passive noise isolation is pretty decent. Nothing too spectacular but definitely good enough to leave most satisfied. This also depends on what ear tips you choose.

Overall, the Libratone Track Air+ is the only pair with active noise cancelling capabilities.

Battery Life

Battery life is an overlooked subject when speaking about over-ear earbuds. Obviously, the only earbuds that have a battery life are those which are wireless. Many earbuds on the market do not have wireless capabilities. But for those who do, a more extended battery-life becomes a convenient factor.

You will also like their great battery life of 10 hours. Its charging case adds an additional 7 recharges giving a total of 80 hours.

Libratone Track Air+
These earbuds offer a decent 6-hour battery life on a full charge. The charging case coming with the purchase adds an additional 18 hours.

The AUKEY T10 earbuds offer sufficient battery life of 7 hours. The charging case adds an additional 17 hours, as well.

Overall, the TRANYA B530 has the most extended battery life.

Added Features

Here we summarize each pair of earbuds and talk about some of the added features.

With the purchase, you get a charging case, USB cord, and 3 different sized ear tip pairs. They have a built-in microphone for phone calls. However, the phone call quality is not as good as the others. Overall, the TRANYA B530 is a superb bang for the buck pair of true wireless earbuds. We highly recommend them to anyone on a tighter budget.

Libratone Track Air+
You’ll appreciate each earbud’s ability to work independently. Not only that, you can double-tap an earbud to initiate voice command, as well. Although these earbuds offer a built-in microphone for phone calls, the call quality underperforms its price. Overall, the primary selling point of the Libratone Track Air+ is its active noise cancelling capabilities. You’ll also appreciate its fantastic build, great sound quality, superior comfort, and sweat-resistant capabilities, as well. We highly recommend them!

The only real area where these earbuds lack is their phone call quality. On both ends, the audio sounds a bit muffled and just flat out horrible. If you need earbuds for phone calls, it’s in your best bet to skip these. Besides that, the AUKEY T10 is a great bang for the buck pair of true wireless earbuds. They have fantastic sound quality, comfort, build quality, design, and noise isolation. We highly recommend it for anyone in need of great value earbuds that don’t need them for phone calls.

Overall, the Libratone Track Air+ has the most beneficial added features and best call quality of the three.

However, our winner is the Libratone Track Air+ due to its active noise cancelling capabilities, great sound, build, and comfort. We highly recommend it.
