6 Best PA Systems Under $500

What is the best portable PA system under $500?

Around the world, people use portable PA systems for many different reasons. A few examples will be parties, karaoke, musical performances, DJ gigs, conferences, events, or a bit of fun around the house.

It’s highly unfortunate that most PA systems come with a high price tag that can break the bank. Considering many of us don’t need the large, complicated, and expensive PA systems for our application, the demand for an affordable but reliable system is massive.

But luckily, in the modern age of a booming audio technological world, there are many affordable PA systems on the market. However, not all of them were created equal. Everyone has different budgets and requirements for the PA system.

After extensive research, personal experience, and help from a few buddies in the audio industry; We formulated a list of the 6 best and most reliable portable PA systems below $500.

In Short, Here Are The Best Affordable PA Systems Below $500 With Both A Mixer & Speakers

  • JBL Professional
  • Rockville (RPG2X15)
  • Rockville RPG2X10
  • Fender Passport Conference

The Bluetooth MUSYSIC is a complete PA system at an affordable price. It comes with two speakers, a 6-channel mixer, and two wireless microphones with the receiver. Running below $500, this system is an exceptional bang for the buck. Since both wireless microphones coming with the purchase come with the receiver, there’s no need to purchase an additional wireless microphone system. They both produce a decent quality of sound and are great for speeches.

With 2000 watts, this PA system gets really loud. Covering a medium to a large audience will not be a problem with this system. Considering it has six channels, you can mic an entire band. That’s unless you play in an eight-piece band.

The sound quality is excellent. Considering the low-price for all of the gear this system comes with, I wasn’t expecting great sound quality. However, I was mistaken. It produces very clear and loud audio. The mids are punchy, and the highs are decent. It does, however, lack a bit of the low. I had to adjust a bit of EQ to fatten the low end to the best of its ability.

Many people use this wireless PA system for larger events than classrooms and conferences. It’s best for speeches, musical performances, medium-sized events, weddings, or small to medium DJ gigs. Overall, I highly recommend the MUSYSIC for anyone in need of an inexpensive but reliable PA!

Users Say: “This system is great. It sets up very quickly and sounds super. It is quality manufactured and the materials will make you proud to own this excellent PA unit for presentations or however it is used. For the money, it can’t be beaten.”

4. Rockville RPG2X10

If you’re looking for the cheapest PA system possible that comes with almost everything you need to get started; the Rockville RPG2X10 is the one for you. I was incredibly shocked to find out how low of a price this system is going for. It comes with a mixer, two speakers, two XLR cables, two microphones, and two speaker cables. It’s pretty popular and highly-rated, as well.

First off, the sound quality will absolutely blow you away for the low price. It produces the highest fidelity audio of any PA system in its price range. It has a broad frequency range of 65Hz – 20KHz picking up the vast majority of audible sound the human ear can hear. You will also enjoy its powerful speakers offering 800 peak Watts.

In terms of build quality, the mixer and speakers outperform their price by a large margin. They seem robust and sturdy, capable of lasting a long time.

The only downside I noticed was the cables coming with the purchase are of inferior quality. However, the speakers and mixer alone undoubtedly surpassed the price range by a massive margin. You may need to purchase additional XLR cables and speaker cables.

Overall, the Rockville RPG2X10 is a spectacular bang for the buck PA system for acoustic gigs. We highly recommend it for anyone on a very tight budget.

Last but not least, the Fender Passport Conference Portable PA system comes with two speakers and one mixer. Conveniently, you can attach all three units and carry them like a suitcase. The suitcase design also decreases overall hassle by a substantial degree. It has three separate mono channels with XLR and quarter-inch inputs and two extra channels with stereo input. Each of these three channels has a volume and tone knob. Unfortunately, it does not have Bluetooth pairing.

The sound quality is excellent. It is very clear and gets incredibly loud without distortion. In my opinion, it can use a bit more bass. However, if your a speaker or performing low-key gigs, the Fender Passport Conference is an excellent choice for you.

It is an overall great bang for the buck portable PA system that has incredibly high ratings. Overall, if you’re looking for a portable and affordable PA system for acoustic gigs or speaking at low-key events, I highly recommend Fender Passport Conference. You can also get this system with added stands and cables here.
