I’ll stand by you has a solid pocket bass line. Between the bass and the kick drum, it doesn’t t change the pocket the entire song. There aren’t too many bass fills if not any at all, either. What I find interesting is how this song effortlessly changes keys between the verses in C Major and the chorus in D major.
