Sound Quality
Especially for music listeners, the overall quality of sound is a massive factor in finding your perfect pair of earbuds. There are various factors that impact a pair of earbuds’ sound quality.
Symphonized NRG 3.0
These earbuds have a solid sound quality with clear lows, crispy midrange, and sparkly highs. All the frequencies have an added depth to them that is unmatched by other earbuds in this price range. Not to forget, the instrumentation is well separated. Overall, the sound quality of music is one of the best on this list. However, considering its optimization for music, listening to audiobooks, videos, and podcasts sound kind of strange to my ears. We primarily recommend these to people who primarily need earbuds to listen to music.
MINDBEAST
For the affordable price, these earbuds produce excellent sound quality. They provide a deep bass sound that’s very responsive for its low price. Overall, I give them an 8.8 out of 10 for sound.
Betron DC950
With its full frequency response of 20Hz – 20kHz, large 11.5mm Neodymium drivers, and gold plated 3.5mm plug; These earbuds deliver pretty good sound quality. It’s not the best on the list, but still very good for the low-price. It has a pretty decent bass response, as well.
Overall, the Symphonized NRG 3.0 has the best sound quality of the three.
Comfort
The ability for earbuds to remain comfortable for extended periods of time without itchiness, annoyance, pressure, or ear pain. Considering many people use earbuds for commute, air travel, or work; Comfort is a vital factor.
Symphonized NRG 3.0
In terms of comfort, they are very good. You are easily able to wear them for extended periods of time without irritation. Overall, I give it an 8.5 out of 10 for comfort and a secure fit.
MINDBEAST
Coming with 3 different sizes of soft silicone rubber ear tips, at least one of them will be the most comfortable and secure fit for your ears. They are pretty comfortable and able to be worn for extended periods. The comfort won’t blow your mind, but it will most likely leave you satisfied.
Betron DC950
In terms of comfort, they are ok. Again, not the best or worst in this price range. There are also a few cases where the foam ear tip gets stuck in the ear. Of the 3 different sizes of soft silicone rubber ear tips, make sure to pick the right size for your ear.
Overall, the Symphonized NRG 3.0 is the most comfortable of the three.
Build Quality
What good are your amazingly sounding earbuds if they break in a few months? The overall durability and longevity are crucial for any investment you make. Especially for those who need earbuds for commute, it’s important they’re able to withstand vigorous traveling conditions consistently.
Symphonized NRG 3.0
They are built with an all-natural handcrafted wood that feels stable and tough. The rubber is securely fastened on the earbud and designed of decent material, as well. You will also appreciate the audio control located on the wire. I give the overall build a 7 out of 10 due to a few complaints of these earbuds dying within the first six months.
MINDBEAST
One of my favorite attributes of the MINDBEAST earbuds is its build quality. They are solid and robust. Compared to every other pair of earbuds in this price range we have tested, these certainly have the toughest cord. However, there have been a few cases where they broke within 6 months. They are also sweat-resistant, as well. Therefore, the overall build quality gets an 8 out of 10.
Betron DC950
Where this pair shines is its build quality. It has a tangle-free cord that’s very convenient. You will also appreciate the gold plated 3.5mm plug, which confirms a stable connection. It has a metal housing which expands overall longevity and durability. Many people are highly satisfied with the overall build quality and lifespan of these earbuds. You will also enjoy how lightweight it is, as well.
Overall, the Betron DC950 has the best build of the three.
Noise Isolation/ Active Noise Cancelling
Don’t be confused between active noise cancelling and noise isolation earbuds. They are both entirely different. Noise-cancelling technology is very unique. Unlike noise-isolating earbuds, noise-cancelling earbuds do not eradicate outside noise by physical insulation. Within the ear cups, they have a mini microphone that picks up the outside environmental noise. It then triggers a frequency entirely opposite to the outside ambient noise. Thus, canceling out most outside ambient sound.
Symphonized NRG 3.0
The noise isolation capabilities are decent: not the best on this list but certainly one of the best for earbuds below $50. If you’re looking for a fair amount of isolation while still being aware of you’re surroundings, these earbuds will suit you well.
MINDBEAST
If placed in your ear canal correctly with the right size, these earbuds really do eliminate 90% of outside environmental noise. Minibeast specifically optimized these earbuds for excellent passive noise isolation. Don’t be mistaken; they’re not active noise cancelling earbuds. However, the passive noise isolation capabilities are stunning. You will be highly satisfied.
Betron DC950
Another very positive benefit they have is its pretty good passive noise isolation. It helps eliminate a fair amount of ambient noise once put in. I give the noise isolation capabilities a solid 7.5 out of 10.
Overall, the MINDBEAST has the best noise isolation of the three.
Battery Life
Battery life is an overlooked subject when speaking about earbuds. Obviously, the only earbuds that have a battery life are those which are wireless. Many earbuds on the market do not have wireless capabilities. But for those who do, a more extended battery-life becomes a convenient factor.
Symphonized NRG 3.0
These headphones are wired and do not have a battery life.
MINDBEAST
These headphones are wired and do not have a battery life.
Betron DC950
These headphones are wired and do not have a battery life.
