I was surprised by the amount of detail the Genesis was able to pick up in my voice while smoothing out the unwanted high end. Mic junkies may believe, as I do, that this mic at $399 can go up against $1000-$2000 microphones. Everybody’s opinion may differ. However, I genuinely believe the MXL Genesis is underrated and underpriced.

This mic gives you a full frequency response of 20Hz to 20kHz. The tube condenser microphone produces an accurate sound with a flare of rich warmth from the tube. The MXL GENESIS Flagship is not only an incredible mic for a nasally voice but for just about any vocal type.

A few top-level sound engineers even go as far as to say the KSM32 at $500 can go up against a Neumann U47 at $4000.

In my experience, the frequency boosts help capture more vocal clarity without accentuating the ugly nasal sound in the voice. Last but certainly not least, the AEA R84 Ribbon is an incredible microphone for nasal singers. It produces a very flat but unique sound that is best described as “dark, warm, and smooth while holding on to classical roots.” However, this lower mid-dark sound certainly reduces an exceptional amount of a nasal voice. Once the vocals are recorded, you can then easily manipulate the sound with EQ and compression to emphasize the better frequencies you prefer.

While created, the AEA R84 Ribbon is tuned to a frequency that is lower than most microphones. It is tensioned to 16.5 Hertz which makes it resonant above there linear frequency. In other words, a nasally voice will be rounded out.

Considering the AEA R84 Ribbon is omnidirectional that captures sound all around the mic, be sure not to sing too far away from it. If too far from an omnidirectional mic, you may capture too much of the room. A soundproof vocal room would do the trick!
